The get-up is a fantastic exercise, but it isn’t what you think it is.
Get-ups aren’t just about standing up with a heavy kettlebell over your head.
Get-ups are about full-body control.
Get-ups are about slow, deliberate movement.
Get-ups aren’t supposed to be “done” so much as they are to be “performed”, as the get-up is almost more dance than exercise.
What I’m saying is simple =》 slow down.
Get-ups are the ultimate kettlebell grind movement and must be done slowly if we’re to get the most benefit from them.
Don’t believe me? Try doing your get-ups with a shoe or half-full cup of water on your fist.
You’ll soon learn just how powerful a slow, controlled, deliberate get-up can be.
