I’ve worked really hard to get pretty good at the five minute snatch test over the past few years.
I’ve competed in the Tactical Strength Challenge three times, and have been in the top 5 for snatches each time. I was also able to nail my 5:00 snatch test at the RKC in four minutes.
Snatches obviously make up a big part of my training, but I also do a lot of Waiter Walks.
The Waiter Walk, walking with the bell in the overhead lockout position, is a great way to develop the strength endurance necessary to really crush the snatch test. Throwing Waiter Walks into your warm-up, cool-down, or on easy or off days can make a huge difference.
You can do them for time or for distance, and you can go heavy or light. Mixing it up each day is best.
Throw these into your routine, and see the difference come test day!
